I am a proud native Oregonian. I have lived all but the last nine years in Portland, Oregon. During my time in Portland, I was employed by some of the largest employers in the city, Fred Meyer, Nike, and Oregon Health and Sciences University. While working at OHSU I had the opportunity to help build the electronic medical record, starting with high-speed scanning, which we later interfaced with EPIC. OHSU is the leader in diversity, as OHSU has people from around the world attending our schools, (Medical, Nursing, Dental, Pharmacology) also throughout the hospital you will see people from all walks of life. OHSU is also a leader in making healthcare available to underserved populations via satellite clinics throughout Oregon. As manager for Release of Patient Information, and Custodian of Records I was in contact with many facets of OHSU. My first four years living in Central Oregon I became a Communication Specialist at St. Charles Medical center, an area I was familiar with from managing the Call Center at OHSU for four years.

I live at Crooked River Ranch. I joined the Lion’s club at CRR and have held positions of Recording Secretary, and President. Our club completes upwards of 15,000 vision tests a year in our region. We sell cords of wood to help finance the scholarship program the CRR Lion’s Foundation has. Last year 8 scholarships were awarded. The CRR Lions club is proud to award these scholarships to Crooked River Ranch residents.

Each election I volunteer to observe ballot handling in Jefferson County. For the 2024-2025 term I was selected to be Treasurer for a Jefferson County political group.

I have been a member of the Council on Aging Caring Connections program; I also deliver meals for Meals on Wheels from the Redmond Senior Center.

Why I Serve

We have a large population of seniors in Jefferson County, even though there is tremendous volunteerism demonstrated daily by different groups here, more could be done to keep people connected, fed, supported and cherished. I want to help facilitate anything that can help us provide the best for our residents, the Council on Aging is a wonderful place to start!
