At the Council on Aging, our goal is to provide programs and services that empower Central Oregon seniors to age in the place of their choosing. We’re a one-stop resource center you can count on to find help and answers to questions. Contact us if you need help.
Whether you’re looking for assistance with Medicare, want to improve your health, or are a caregiver helping a loved one remain independent and safe at home, we are here to help!
Food and Nutrition
A well-balanced diet is integral to staying healthy. Eating right can help seniors maintain a healthy weight and stay energized. It also lowers the risk of developing chronic health conditions. Learn about the nutritional needs and challenges of seniors and the food services that we provide.
Caring for a loved one can be rewarding but often overwhelming. Half of older Americans report having someone they consider to be a caregiver and close to one-third say they serve as a caregiver for someone else. Learn about the support resources that are available.
Our Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance-trained volunteer counselors offer free, unbiased, and confidential assistance with Medicare insurance choices and help for those turning 65 as they sign up for Medicare.
Oregon Project Independence
Most older adults want to live in their own homes rather than relocate. Learn more about Oregon Project Independence and in-home services that help make it possible for seniors to age at home with dignity and independence.
Caring Connections matches volunteers with seniors who would appreciate a weekly phone call and making new friends. Our volunteers are local to Central Oregon and have training, and background checks.
For many seniors, fur babies are essential companions. That’s why our Pet Pals Program provides pet food and supplies and free veterinary care to Meals on Wheels participants in Bend, La Pine, and Sisters.
