The Council on Aging of Central Oregon Senior Services Center is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Senior Services Center features an information and referral hub, a large dining hall, a community room, social areas, computer stations, a production kitchen, and administrative offices.
Guests are welcome to drop in during business hours to speak with our Information and Referral Specialist, to enjoy a cup of coffee by the fireplace, or choose books from our Sharebrary in partnership with the Deschutes Public Library.
The Senior Services Center hosts community lunches every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11am-1pm (lunch is served at noon). These no-cost social events are an opportunity to see old friends and make new ones, enjoy entertainment, and eat delicious food prepared by our chef. Lunches are no-cost for guests 60 and over and are $5 for people under 60.
Funding for the Senior Services Center was provided with significant community support from organizations including the JTMF Foundation, St. Charles Health System, the City of Bend, Deschutes County, Oregon Community Foundation, Bend Foundation, The Healy Foundation, HEDCO Foundation, Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, Autzen Foundation and OnPoint Community Credit Union. In addition, there were many generous individual donations including a bequest of $250,000 from the Elmer F. Kruse Revocable Trust, and a $250,000 investment from the Oregon State Legislature’s biennial ‘Christmas Tree Fund.’
